Salomon Ultra Glide

The Salomon Ultra Glide is Salomon's max-cushion trail shoe, built for long distance: the one you reach for when the outing is measured in hours rather than kilometres.

• Energy Foam midsole, soft and absorbing, with roughly 38.6 mm of stack at the heel and 31.1 mm at the forefoot.
• contaGRIP outsole with 3.9 mm lugs: enough for rolling trail and packed dirt, not built for very technical rock.
• Around 295 g in a men's size.

Max cushioning, without the mush

The Ultra Glide's bet is to put a lot of foam underfoot without losing control. The platform is wide, the heel is well held, and Salomon's wrap does the rest. Four hours into an outing, that combination is the difference between finishing comfortable and finishing with a limp.

Who is the Ultra Glide for?

• Ultras and long trail outings, where cushioning matters more than speed.

What about the S/Lab Ultra Glide?

The S/Lab Ultra Glide is the racing version: same long-distance cushioning philosophy, but lightened and sharpened for athletes. It is unisex, and you will also find it in the Salomon S/Lab collection.

Ultra Glide or Genesis?

The Salomon Genesis is more versatile and more at home on technical ground. The Ultra Glide is taller, plusher and more specialised: distance above all.
