Men's running shoes

Find the perfect running shoe for your stride and terrain. Our selection of men's running shoes covers every need — road, trail, daily training, racing — with major brands Brooks, Saucony, ASICS, Salomon, Mizuno and more. Whether you're after everyday running shoes for men or a fast race-day model, our team advises you based on your needs and goals, and we ship across Canada.

By terrain

Road: cushioning and a smooth ride for asphalt. Trail: grip and protection for the trail. Winter: waterproof and grippy for snow and ice.

By stride type

Most runners have a neutral stride; those who overpronate benefit from a stability shoe. Our guide on how to choose running shoes helps you decide.

By cushioning, use and width

Max cushioning for comfort and long distances, carbon plate and performance for speed, daily trainers for everyday miles, and extended widths for wide feet.

Choosing the best men's running shoe

The best men's running shoe depends on four things: your stride (neutral or overpronation), your terrain (road or trail), the cushioning you want and your foot shape. A beginner is best served by a comfortable neutral trainer; a runner chasing a time, by a lighter or carbon-plated model. When in doubt, an in-store gait analysis points you to the right pair.

Choosing your shoe

The right model depends on your stride, terrain, build and goals. Visit our specialty running store in Quebec City: we take the time to advise you and have you try several models. Shopping for her? Here are our women's running shoes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose men's running shoes?
Consider your terrain (road or trail), your stride type (neutral or overpronation), the cushioning level you want and your foot shape. The most reliable approach is a fitting at a specialty store, with advice from our team.
What's the difference between road and trail shoes?
Road shoes prioritize cushioning and a smooth ride on asphalt. Trail shoes add lugs for grip, protection against rocks and roots, and a more stable platform on uneven terrain.
How long does a pair of running shoes last?
Generally 500 to 800 km depending on the model, your weight and your stride. Carbon plate shoes and ultralight foams wear faster. Watch for foam packing out and outsole wear.
How do I clean and care for my running shoes?
Remove the insoles and laces, brush off mud once dry, then hand wash in cold water with a mild soap — never in the washer or dryer, which damage the foams and adhesives. Air dry, stuffed with newspaper, away from direct heat.
Should I have more than one pair of shoes?
For regular runners, rotating two pairs (for example a daily trainer and a faster shoe) extends the life of each, varies the stress on your body and can reduce injury risk.
How do I know if I have a neutral stride or overpronate?
Signs of overpronation: marked wear on the inner edge of your soles, ankle or knee fatigue. If in doubt, drop by the store and our team will help you figure it out.
Can you help me choose in store?
Yes. At our Quebec City store, our team takes the time to understand your needs, terrain and goals, and has you try several models to find the right pair.
