The Brooks Glycerin GTS is the Glycerin with support. GTS stands for Go-To Support: Brooks adds its GuideRails on either side of the heel without touching the rest of the shoe.
How GuideRails work
Traditional stability shoes add firmer foam under the arch to push the foot outward. Brooks takes another route: two side walls that do nothing as long as your stride stays on track, and that only step in when the movement becomes excessive — typically late in a long run, once fatigue sets in.
In practice, the GTS does not feel firmer than the regular Glycerin. It feels more held.
Who is the Glycerin GTS for?
- Mild to moderate overpronation in someone who wants comfort first.
- Runners whose outsoles wear more on the inner edge.
- Anyone who feels their ankle rolling inward after 60 or 90 minutes of running.
- Runners torn between neutral and stability: the GTS is the least committal middle ground.
Glycerin GTS or Adrenaline GTS?
Both use GuideRails. The Adrenaline GTS is lighter, more dynamic and cheaper: it is Brooks' versatile stability shoe. The Glycerin GTS is plusher and more premium, built for distance and comfort.
What if I don't need support?
Then the regular Glycerin is enough. The GTS adds nothing to a neutral stride, and there is no benefit to taking support just in case. If you are unsure, have your gait looked at before you buy.
The generations
We keep several generations in stock, from the Glycerin GTS 20 to the GTS 23. From one version to the next, Brooks evolves the foam — the 23 moves to dual-density DNA Tuned — but the support logic stays the same. Previous generations are often on sale and remain excellent shoes.
Have your gait analyzed
The difference between neutral and stability is not something you can guess from a box. Come by the store near Québec City: our staff look at your stride and your outsole wear before pointing you anywhere.
