Which running jacket should I choose by weather?
In windy or cool weather, a light windbreaker is enough. In the rain, go for a breathable waterproof jacket. In deep cold, a jacket with targeted insulation; on the trail, a rugged model suited to carrying a pack.
Windbreaker or waterproof: what's the difference?
The windbreaker blocks wind and resists light showers while staying very breathable and packable. The waterproof protects against sustained rain via a membrane, at the cost of some breathability. The choice depends on your usual conditions.
Can a running jacket serve as a winter outer layer?

How do I care for a waterproof running jacket?
Wash in cold water, without fabric softener, and air dry. The water-repellent (DWR) finish can be reactivated with gentle heat or renewed with a specific product to restore water resistance.
